Day Four Final: University of Paris

Welcome one of the earliest universities in Europe, The university of Paris. Built in the mid 12 century, the university had some suspension issues and eventually stopped operating in 1970. However 13 other universities formed from it still making an education today. The university specialized in 4 topics, Medicine, Art, Law and Theology. Many nationalities came to the school for its high master and scholar education classes, the nationalities were England, Normandy, France, and Piccadilly. They People were often split up in the 4 groups if that's there nationality then further divided into the four. Though many others came in that couldn't be yet categorized. The university was under the church therefore having a dress code of ropes, shaved heads to prove they are under god. They obeyed rules of church and not of the laws of the king. Schooling was Young starting in there teen years and leave in their early twenties. There was revolts and shut downs, but overall maintained itself throughout the middle ages up till close to modern times. The rating is 7/10 because of its place in history and education, although no cool jail cells or Gothic buildings Will be found here. Restaurants include the Andre Terrill, its great to snack before you leave the country to the Le Bourget paris airport. Taxis are always available in France and Europe.

Day 3: France, Cathedrial Notre Dame

We've spent enough time in England, now its time for a new country with great middle age heritage, the cathedral notre dame. The hunchback of notre dame wont be found here but stories like that all came from this church. The roman catholic church has been standing for a few centuries. Speaking of which took a few centuries to be built. It was started in 1163 and its still unclear weather Maurice de sully or pope Alexander 3 started the layout. It was built because the old cathedral from the fourth century wasn't making the cut and it was decided they need a new bigger cathedral. The most interesting thing about the cathedral was not who made it but the construction itself. Its architecture was revolutionary at the time, the first building with a flying buttress and stain glass windows. It truly resembles Gothic architecture with these features and statues. It is still awe looking today as nothing is Gothic architecture these days. Nevertheless, the cathedral still suffered wear and tear from riots and French revolutions, but still stands Strong today. This is definitely 10/10 the highlight of the trip. You wish you want stay here for days. The architecture and history is unbeatable. There is nothing bad about this one. Day 2: Medieval Europe Gallary, British Mueseum

now that you've seen an actual building of middle age history, its time you See the artwork and science from the time period. The British museum resembles human history since the beginning of time for our species. The museum has 7 million objects to teach about humans. The museum since standing from 1759, has a medieval gallery, and that's what we want you to look at. The exhibit contains items relevant to the time period of 1050 to 1540 AD. The exhibit has artwork depicting what life was like. Have objects such as the citole, a musical instrument of that time. Also having Gothic architecture and christian artwork including sculptures of Christ to show how religion played a huge role of that time. Wars, crusades, trade, and pilgrimage are also depicted and much more. The rating would be 8/10, because of its such great detail and artwork that describes the story. Of course it always would be better if you could see things of the middle ages outside of a museum. Hotels include the Montague on the gardens, a 4 and a half star hotel that is a little expensive but well worth it as its close to the museum and is great overall. The Ivy is also a great place to grab a bite and hit the airport to France.

Day 1: London Tower

As you arrive from a long plane ride to here in England you probably want to already see something amazing. This is where the the tower of London is. The tower of London lies on the North bank of the Thames river in central London. Its a real castle, it was important to Medieval Europe's existence. It was a Treasury, record office, Armoury, and a menagerie. After a period of time however it became a prison and held thousands of criminals. It created the term "sent to the tower" as it was common place to hold captives. Elisabeth one was also held up in there for quite some time. This building is true medieval history and is something you cant miss its a building that withstood time and showed how real castles were like, not on cartoons as they are portrayed. This place is 4 stars because it is really something You don't see everyday and is part of something long ago. great place, but perhaps a little better service in the shops and restaurants near by. places to stay near the London tower include the The tower, A guoman Hotel, it may not be beautiful but it as great views of the Tower of London, 4 star hotel.
